Welcome.

To read the latest film reviews and features from Catherine Pearson, have a look at the ‘Recent Reviews’ to the right.

20160919_140820_20161020044144824 I am 24 years old and I am a finalist at the University of Warwick studying Film & Literature.

I write for Den of Geek, Picturehouse Cinemas and UK Film Review as well as the university newspaper The Boar. When I’m not writing there, I’m adding content here and working away on my film essays! (See bottom of page for links).

Before I started university in 2014 I wrote my first published film review for the programme of the beautiful art deco cinema The Rex in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. My aspiration to become a film critic confirmed, I began studying Film on the best course in the country.

I was thrilled to interview film critic Mark Kermode in November 2016 at Warwick Arts Centre for The Boar, as well as meet with established film critics Mike McCahill and James Luxford. I have also had the pleasure of recently being in contact with director John Michael McDonagh, as well as his fantastic producer Chris Clark, and interviewing  him on his films The Guard and Calvary.

Reviewing film is what I love, so I hope you enjoy my reviews and I welcome feedback.
